Price comes down to the size of the area, how thick the growth is and what happens to the material. Slope, soft ground and machine access move it as well. An acre of heavy blackberry and small trees takes far more machine time than an acre of open grass. We look at the property and give you a free estimate for that specific job.

We are based in Lebanon and work the mid-Willamette Valley, roughly an hour of driving around town. That covers Linn, Benton, Marion, Polk and Lane counties, including Albany, Corvallis, Salem, Eugene and Sweet Home. Check the full list of towns if you are not sure your place is in range.

Most of it gets ground into chips on site through forestry mulching and left spread across the ground. On some jobs we rake the material into piles instead, so you can handle it later. Hauling material off the property is not a service we offer. We settle which way suits your job before the machines start.

The machines can take a blackberry mass down to bare ground and pull root balls out with the brush rake. The plants come back from root crowns left in the soil, so one pass is rarely the end of it. Late spring through early fall is the easiest window, since the ground is firm. The valley is wet from fall into spring, and soft ground limits what the machines can do on some properties. Summer brings Oregon Department of Forestry fire season, which can typically restrict power equipment hours. Grass knockdown and defensible space clearing are usually best handled before the valley dries out.

Oregon law typically requires an 811 utility locate before ground-disturbing work, and we build that call into the schedule. Permits depend on your county, your fire district and what the land is being cleared for. Burning any material you keep is a separate matter with its own local rules. Jobs run from a back corner of a yard to acreage that has gone wild for years. Small ones make sense once the growth is thick enough that hand tools cannot touch it.
