Sweet Home sits at about 600 feet, with the South Santiam River along the north edge of town. Ames Creek and Wiley Creek both run into it inside the city limits. East and south of town the ground climbs toward the Cascades. Marks Ridge tops out near 1,300 feet, and parcels up there run to long drives and timber edges.
That mix changes what a clearing job looks like, and flat pasture near Foster mulches quickly. A sloped lot off Berlin Road takes more machine time. With fir and maple crowding in, the excavator does more of it. We look at the ground first and price the job from what is actually there.

Himalayan blackberry is a listed noxious weed in Oregon, and east Linn County grows it well. It swallows fence lines, ditch banks and the edges of hay ground. Cutting the canes does not finish it. The root crown is woody, and it sends up new canes after almost any disturbance.
One pass opens the ground. Keeping it open is a schedule, not a single job. We mulch the mass down first, then pull root balls with the excavator where the owner wants them out. Regrowth gets handled with repeat mowing or mulching, since we do not spray.
